Mark Rodney Entertainment is the banner under which the original creative work of Brody Bowman and Ethan DeLeon lives. This includes, but is not limited to, short films, music videos, and narrative projects. For years, the two filmmakers have shared a dream of creating original feature-length films, but making a movie is no small task.
Driven by a desire to bring that dream to life, Brody set out to write a script. It needed to be both attainable and compelling. Aspiring screenwriters are often told to “write what you know,” and that’s exactly what he did. Brody comes from a family deeply rooted in education, and he himself works as a part-time art teacher for middle and high school students. While this is not the first feature-length script he has written, it was intentionally crafted to serve as Mark Rodney Entertainment’s debut feature film. With input from Ethan and other filmmaking peers, the script was completed. Mr. Howard is a family-friendly romantic dramedy that explores themes of selflessness and the importance of investing in the lives of others.
The following is the official longline of the film:
Self-absorbed teacher of the year, Mr Howard, finds himself cornered into teaching summer school and must put aside his summer plans to teach a group of less-than-scholarly students.
Over the years, Brody and Ethan have gained experience producing their own creative projects together, primarily in the form of short films. Many of these can be found on the Mark Rodney Entertainment YouTube channel. While these projects have been creatively fulfilling, they have yet to provide the opportunity to produce a feature-length film. One key piece was still missing: an audience.
Jenna Frank, a Los Angeles-based producer, introduced Brody and Ethan to Ironheart, a full-time content creator with over four million followers across platforms. Known online as “The Rizz Queen” for her viral “rizzing up guys” pickup line content, Ironheart also shares a passion for acting. It quickly became clear that by teaming up, they could help bring each other’s goals to life. Ironheart has been cast as Maggie, an art teacher and best friend of the film’s titular character, John Howard, who will be played by Brody.
Mr. Howard is scheduled to begin principal photography in Ontario, Canada, in July 2026. In early pre-production, Dawn Davis was attached to the project to co-direct the film alongside Brody. With no legacy studio backing the project, this is a true independent film in every sense. The official fundraising campaign launched on April 14th, 2026, on Kickstarter, to raise $150,000 to bring the film to life. U.S.-based donors may also be eligible for tax deductions through the project’s fiscal sponsor, The FIELD. Supporters can follow along with progress updates and key announcements through Mark Rodney Entertainment’s social media channels and the official Mr. Howard website.
Mark Rodney Entertainment is thrilled to take this next step and bring Mr. Howard to life.
